The Ayurvedic nutritional perspective is different than the conventional understanding of nutrition. For example, Ayurveda does not advocate calorie counting. Instead , it teaches the five elements and how each food contains certain elements that can balance or create imbalances in our body. We will learn the Five Element perspective to nutrition according to your personal body constitution. We will answer questions like, "What is my Body type and current imbalances? What is the state of my digestive fire? “Good Digestion is the key to health.” Will you be able to digest nutrients and assimilate them if your digestive fire is low or if it is burning too high? We will investigate the concerns around this and learn the six tastes. Each taste has a certain quality (heavy, light, moist and dry...), which affects our balance of health. Another key point that will be addressed is that poor digestion creates toxins, which create disease later on. Ayurvedic Nutrition can prevent disease.

We will learn a Daily Energy Routine that will be sure to revitalize your energy! We will learn grounding techniques to feel connected to our core, which helps us be more present and calm. I will teach some acupressure points to relieve headaches, hormonal imbalance and anxiety. We will learn to trace some key meridians and have an introduction to the Yogic chakra system which equates to the Triple Warmers of the Chinese system. We will learn the five rhythms or elements which are the bio-energies of our body, mind and environment. We will learn how we can sedate and stimulate these elements for balance and health.
